REFERRALS AND TREATMENT
A referral by a physician is required to initiate
occupational therapy. Clients may come directly without referral
for evaluation and treatment for physical therapy. Some insurances,
however, require a physician referral. If your insurance requires
a referral from your primary care physician (PCP), you must obtain
this prior to your evaluation. On initial visit a thorough evaluation
is performed, then goals and treatment plan are developed with you,
the client. We pride ourselves in offering a clinical setting that
provides “one on one” care provided by the same therapist
for maximum continuity. We communicate closely with your referring
physician by providing evaluation summaries and detailed progress
reports.
Your participation in therapy is necessary for a
successful outcome. Your therapist will individualize your home
program and upgrade it regularly to maximize your progress in therapy.

FEES AND INSURANCE
Delivering cost-effective therapy is a priority
for our practice. We accept most insurance plans. Prior to starting
therapy at NH Hand Therapy Center, we encourage you to call your
own insurance company’s Subscriber Services Department to
become familiar with your policy coverage for occupational and physical
therapy, whether you have met your deductible, and whether you have
a co-payment. Not all insurances cover occupational therapy and
we have the advantage of scheduling you with physical therapy (one of
only two PT, CHT in NH) if the situation arises. We submit billing as
a courtesy to you. All deductibles and co-payments are required
at each visit.
